Default Difference in NISMO CAI Gen I and II

What is the difference in the Nismo CAI Gen I and II? I would have to believe that there are still plenty of Gne I's out there and how do you tell the difference?

Thanks

Default Someone must know this...

I would like to know because I am planning on buying one and I would like to know what one I am getting. Maybe Jason at Performance can help with this.

Original NISMO Exhaust: V1
Mulitiple pieces... Used factory housing for Mass Air Flow Sensor (MAF)

V2: The Flopp...
Two Pieces, with INTEGRATED MAF housing... Not Many were distributed from NISMO, they were found to loose HP... Recalled from dealers hands...

V3: aka... Current V2
Back to the multi piece design using the factory MAF housing... Changed pipe diameters and length of each pipe... Makes more power then original they say...

Current V3 on special this month only!

Never mind just read a little more and it states walk ins are welcome
But, why does this have to be installed as a short ram? I have the roadster.

Jason,

Some people say that the NISMO causes a hit in the low end torque. DO you have any experience with this?

pretty much all of the intakes loose some low end torque below 3000RPM...

but not like using much down there...

it is beautiful, but unfortunatly no longer in production...

the few that have them are lucky...

and the few that have them and the MAF adapter isnt welded on backwards are even luckier!

Anyone have a picture of the Nismo V1 CAI?

Just want to see how different it looks compared to the Nismo V2 CAI.

V1 looks exactly the same as V3 but the pipe diameter are larger on V3 on the section lower to the filter and the bracket on the MAF is different... slightly... nothing major... just color and thickness..

Maybe this is a dumb question (noob), but if all intakes are for the most part producing the same amount of hp and tq, why does'nt everyone get the jwt popcharger, besides the looks of that damn sexy intake above.

Default Nismo Cai

I bought a used Nismo CAI. I cant seem to fit it into the front bumper. I was wondering if anyone knew where I could get a set of Instructions/Manuals on the install. I've got a bracket and a rubber piece that I dont know where it goes?

I scanned the instruction manual. Hit me up with an email where to send it. That goes for anybody else.

I bought mine in early 2006 from Performance Nissan. Any idea if there is a chance that it is a Gen 1?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought that the Nismo CAI was just a rebranding of the AEM CAI. If so, here are the instructions to the AEM, which seem very familiar to me. http://www.aempower.com/images/products/21547.pdf

PS: Can anybody tell me how/when and with what do I clean my nismo cai?

EDIT: Added link to AEM
