I dont know??? I wasnt expecting any drastic changes in power or the way its pulls but all those reviews where people stated that it ROARS when wot? When I rev the motor or beging to acelerate you can here the hissing sound early in the power band but its prettly much non exsistance after 4k? Maybe when i get my z tube or exhaust but i must say im dissapointed overal i paid 187.00 for this? well at least the service at Everything g35.com rocks .

 

can you take a picture of the CAI and tell us where the filter is located?

get a z-tube and drop in filter...ditch the cai

 

Yeah i was thinking of that combo instead of the cai. I'm going to try to post pics...heres the deal upon closer inspection i notice that the filter doesnt sit in the middle of the stillen heat shield. The top portion of the filter is touching the heat shield???, im guessing that the air is not reaching the filter evenly??? well ill try to post pics later oh and one more thing does anybodys temp guage seem to go up after installing the stillen cai the meter sits right in the middle?

 

That sounds really strange, any open filter would be very loud at WOT over 4-5k rpm, substantially louder then the stock exhaust sound...

You need to use the stillen CAI WITH the Z-tube. I have that combo and if you do not notice the sound diffrence exsp. @ high rpms then something is wrong.

 

Just recieved my Z-tube through everythingG35 and wow 80$ for a piece of plastic but regardless im happy with it. Next up is the 5/16 spacer,grounding kit, exhaust and tint. will be back with impressions with Z tube.

 

Just installed my Z tube and it was a very easy install.

Started her up and its definently louder.. i unplugged the battery and gonna let it sit for an hour so the ecu can reset then take it for a ride.

 

the z tube is bigger than the stock intake tube on the g and the z tube doesnt have a huge resonator chamber on it

 

yeah when itook out the 'G tube' it had that wierd box on the bottom.

Anyways... I installed it on my lunch break and drove back to work and wow! its still not worth 80$ but the car now sreams and compliments my stillen CAI.

I cant wait to get my spacer and then exhaust!
