Default Need help on choosing a test pipe!

I know this question has proboly been asked many times but here it is again. Which test pipe is the best or are they all the same. I saw this test pipe on Ebay "T-Pros Stainless Steel Downpipe for Nissan 350Z" It looked different than the other ones I saw. Is it any good? OH and right now I have stillen headers, pulleys, and an intake will I feel a difference with the test pipes?

Go with the APS. Thats what I did. I rather spend the extra $50 dollars on something you know you don't have to worry about than spend $150 on some BS brand that might crack or wheatever in the future and have to spend $200 than.

don't spend to much on test pipe. I use Ebay "T-Pros Stainless Steel Downpipe and happy with it. with tespipe, you will hear it louder but gain in hp will not be that much.

Since a test pipe is just a empty pipe, the difference between brands is size. You'll also see a difference in quality of materials and fit. For $100 (i.e. eBay) you get exactly what you pay for.

Do you have anything to back this up? I used brand name before i switch to T-Pros from ebay and i don't see anything different. Yes it is true sometime that you get what you pay for but not for testpipe, T-Pros work even better.

I took Bubble's advice when I bought my test pipes (I bought some cheap meagan resonated test pipes) and I love them, great sound, and no problems at all. Listen to this man he knows what he's talking about.

hehehe...in theory, more air flow would give you a bit more hp. BUT to be honest, i can't feel any power gain. Louder? YES.

So a test pipe would be a waste of money?

If you want louder then test pipe is one of the solution. Just buy the one around $100. It will be a waste of money if you buy brand name one.

Thumbs down

Probably (especially without more breathing mods and a TUNE). By the way you'll pollute more in every way...

So if i want power gains with my current mods (CAI, Headers, Pulley) a test pipe won't give me anything? Would I be better off getting a dyno tune?

A good tune once you're done with your long mod list...

You'll still see power gains with test pipes. I've done the same mods (PopCharger, Spacer, Crank pulley, TP) and getting re-dyno on the 25th.

I got the APS test pipes and they are really nice. Stainless steel and nice heavy flanges. I recommend these but remember you are still going to need something to take care of the imminent CEL.

this might be a dum question, but can you get your car tuned with a stock ecu on a dyno or would you need a reflash for that?

Hey dude, the stock ECU is not tuneable but you can have it flashed, meaning having some perimeters set, A/F ratios for example. You need a standalone or a piggyback system to have the car tuned, which seems to be a little bigger of a payoff in terms of horsepower. But you'll pay more money for that power. With the mods your adding you might want to put your car on the dyno and check out where your A/F is at and make sure you're not running lean.
