Test Pipes and Check Engine Light...
im planning on getting some resonated test pipes and have heard that the check engine light will go on... is there any way to resolve this??
I have over 10,000 miles and still haven't got a check engine light. I have even run with open Nismo headers and I didn't get a check engine light. I think that only happens on some cars or if the O2 sensors is damaged.
I can't believe people still dont know (not u thread starter) that some models get it, and some models dont. Pre 2004.5 DONT get aa CEL w test pipes and post 2004.5 do!
For the unlucky ones who do, theres 3 things u can do.. simulator, diode or HELP! method. Latter one is easiest, first one looks the most professional. Some test pipes have the bung between the 4 oclock and 7 o clock position, which make HELP! method useless b/c the o2 sensors would be too close to the floor.

Yes if ur 03 ur fine. Its just as rare for a pre 04.5 to get a CEL as it is for a post 04.5 to get one. If you get 1 in a 100 miles, the fix is easier than installing the test pipes
thanks guys. Just got my Labree test pipes installed and you guys were absolutely right.... NO CEL!! whew. But all i gotta say is HOOOOOLY ****. These test pipes are sick. Pulls way harder. My first test run down the street i totally missed 2nd gear cuz it redlined so quick and my engine cut. but WOW what a difference. I dont get the black smoke that some members have experienced. The Guys at Labree are really great. Superior quality and excellent customer service. Gonna go do anothjer run down the street....
If the test pipes dont throw a engine light, that means you pass inspection right? Or is there other things they would do to find out? Because last time i went on inspection they just plugged a computer in to see.
