Default Do borla headers suck?

I keep hearing that borla headers suck and that they are probably just taking away hp rather then improving hp. Is this true? If so what headers should I try and replace them with?

they gain a little. but not nearly as much as others. they are one of the worst headers out there.

Whatever headers you have are an improvement over the OEM exhaust manifold.

thats not true at all.

to elaborate. search for crawford z's initial testing of manifolds for the z. they tested several different designs. a poorly designed manifold can lose power over the stock one.

the stock piece is not that bad at all. ya it has pretty tiny runners and they merge too soon, but its good as far as an oem piece goes.

not 100% true but for the cost and all the work that involves switching out headers you better make sure you get good ones.

I had originally installed Borla headers. They cracked (where the flange meets the runner) after about 9 months. Switched over to Nismo headers about 2 years ago and haven't had any problems.

That is exactly what I was going to say. I had the Borla headers for about a week and sold them before I even installed them. This is definitely one part that you do not want to have to install twice.

Borla themselves has stated that their headers do not improve performance. WTF.
