Default Test Pipes & Dealer Service

I have been thinking about adding tests pipes to my car, which is not my daily driver. Other upgrades are just POP charger and 5/16 spacer. Where I live, my car does not have to pass emissions testing. If something happens to my car that I can not fix, will the dealer say anything about the test pipes? I’m not speaking from a warranty stance, as my car has 50k miles. Is there any chance they will tell me my car has to have catalytic converters, or even refuse to service my car? This is assuming they even notice.

The answer is dependent upon where you live. Check with your states emissions department.

they will not. As the rule say: they will void warranty if and only if your aftermarket part cause the problem. So let say you have testpipe and your axles need to work on then it has nothing to do with the testpipe.

if only real life were that simple. they'll just hold your car for 3months and pull every trick in the book to prove they are somehow related. i had my dealer trying to convince me that my k&n voided my suspension warranty....uh huh.

fact is, ulness you have a mod friendly dealer, you'll be ****ed 6ways 'til sundown if you mod.

its all about the dealer....my friend is in arbitration right now with GM because they are claming that his exhaust caused his reverse lock out solenoid to go bad in his gto thus voiding his warranty....its almost funny.
