I'm getting an exhaust installed tonight.... will my stock exhaust fit in my Z ??? anyone ever have this problem? please let me know! Thanks!

It might... You need to put a towel on your passenger seat and put half of the stuff up on the passenger seat... The rest should fit in the trunk

 

if they take it apart you can easily fit it all in the rear trunk.
just make sure to put it in a plastic bag.

 

It will fit but it's tight. Bring lots of towels and bags to protect you interior!!!

I had to put the y-pipe section in the front seat. The big rear piece can fit in the rear.

 

I used to have some parts that sold & stated above I have seen it fit but you need to protect your interior with all that AL rolling around so wrap it up!! =) You be ok...

My exhaust wouldn't come apart so I had to disconnected it from the Y pipe and then unscrew the exhaust holders. I just left mine at my friends house. There was no way I could fit the stock exhaust in my Z without taking the pipe apart from the mufflers.

I have a sub box under my strutbar and I was still able to get my OEM exhaust home. I did scratch some of the plastic in the rear though.

 

I too was wondering the same thing as I am getting my Borla system installed on Saturday.

have the installer throw away the stock exhaust... unless you installed test pipes or cat delete then you might need it back...

if you have a catback exhaust, I can bet you'll never put the stock one back on so get rid of it

 

i'd keep the stock exhaust just in case you might need to return the Z in oem conditions to sell. You can sell the aftermarket exhaust on ebay later on.

Do most of you with aftermarket exhaust keep stock exhaust?

I'm asking since I still have mine...but it's taking up space and curious if anyone else keeps theirs.

 

I'm a pack-rat by nature, but I am proud to say I told the dealer to just dump the oem exhaust. I could have taken it home and held on to it in case the Nismo ever gets issues, or put it on ebay I guess. The reality as I saw it was that I would never bother to try to move it on ebay and all it would do at the house is take up space. I don't think I would ever have problems with the Nismo kit and if I did, I would look to replace it with another aftermarket, not the old stock.
