I had to use the extra washers. (Luckily, the OEM bolts and the MD bolts were the same size as I have a somewhat early Z - Jan 2003 build.)

just from looking at my pics a few posts up does that seem to be about what you guys clearence looks like?
had the same problem. the strut was clearing the plenum at rest but on throttle you could hear some klanging. double-checked the clearance and saw there was a small scratch from where the strut was rubbing the plenum on throttle. had to readjust the strut for additional clearance and all was well. the important thing is to make sure if clears enough to account for throttle.

When I put my car on the dyn the first time, I had a blue hydroshield on my Injen CAI. I pulled:
247.84 RWHP & 234.54 torque.

On the second and third pull I took off the Hydroshield and pulled:
250.14 RWHP & 237.30 torque
250.17 RWHP & 237.91 torque

I thought that the Hydroshield was not restrictive, but the proof is in the pudding.

My strut bar has about 1/4 inch minimum and 3/8 inch maximum clearance over the plenum.

I headed out early Sunday/March 5th on a 230 mile run on the expressway and mountain twisties. No problems (except RPMing the hell out of the engine) !!

I still "feel" some low torque loss .. but a VTEC-type of feeling as the RPMs spool up from 3,500 ......

I am still planning on unhooking the negative battery cable for 24 hours .. and see what happens with any ECU reset. Just haven't had the time ---

I notice the same when I installed mine w/ PopCharger and Pulley. I added the APS race pipes about a month later and that brought back my low-end power and "smoothed" the power out. Only thing I could think of is that I was getting all this air in but couldn't get it out. Now I need a tune.

Interesting. Thanks for the feedback.

Also, what kind of "tune" are you planning to do ?

Your welcome. I plan on using the TurboXS UTEC for my tuning needs. My tuner & myself feel that with the UTEC & my current set-up we should get about another 15whp & 10-15wtq. If you haven't done research on it I highly suggest you do.

what engine do you have again?
and would you buy the kit if you could do it over?
was it worth it?

You had those dyno numbers with just a CAI??? What type of dyno and they have to be SAE corrected.

I am sorry you were missled to believe that all I have is a CAI.
I actually have the Injen CAI, Motordyne 5/16" plenum spacer & Greddy Evo 2 cat back exhaust...

And you dynoed 250 & 237? Nice numbers. Refresh my memory but you don't have a baseline correct? The reason I'm asking is cause I dynoed 249 & 236, mods in sig, gaining 17hp & 10tq. I don't know if our power is coming from the spacer or one of our dyno's is reading low or high?

I've got the 287 engine .. and yes, I would do it again .. especially with the plenum cooling (gaskets and coolant valve control). Definitely worth it.

I recommend you do it .. very inexpensive mod - and most people have raved about it.
