Funny everytime I hear HKS exhaust video they all sound raspish....The Greddy sounds good regardless....I will not buy either till I hear both first hand....Any local NY/NJ kats with HKS exhausts so I can hear em up close and personal?????

I'm convinced the video equipment is to blame for the "rasp". The mic will pickup sound that is closest to 1k mhz more so than the sound that you hear in person. We are not hearing the sub 1k mhz sound thanks to the mic. And our computer speakers can't possibly help the issue.

Also, I read eat_rice_z33 say the restriction on the stock exhaust is due to the y pipe and headers. For $1600, I would prefer to keep the stock catback section and replace the headers, y pipe and cats with HFC or test pipes. Anyone know of the best aftermarket solution to this section? How much and does anyone know of a 1 piece y pipe/test pipe?

Yea there's something up with the video equipment ... there's no way to show how good this exhaust sounds unless you're right there.

Question: Will high flow cats take away from the HKS sound and make it annoyingly loud? Or will they let it sound the same, just with better airflow? Can anyone comment on that setup: HKS HI-Power with HFC

Correct me if i'm wrong, but doesn't the y-pipe get replaced anyway when you go for the HKS exhaust, or any true dual exhaust?

Yes with the HKS the stock Y-Pipe is replaced.

Are you sure that has test pipes? Cause that mess sounds GREAT! I can hardly tell the difference from the HKS without test pipes. Sounds just as good and just as mean. I like.

By the way, does my car seem abnormally fast for only 2 mods? I've raced my car stock against G35 coupe (KILLED it), Supra Turbo (got a jump and kept it), and an 05 Mustang GT. With my exhaust, I've raced my friends Z (as you can see I beat him by a lot), and my friends brand new STi (whooped him from a roll, caught up to him at 90 and passed him slowly from a launch). Anyone know why my car seems a bit faster than it should?

I have taken out the spare tire, have a pop charger, and have HKS exhaust. Thats it. I thought maybe my car was lighter than my friend's Z, but I don't think it's more than 40 lbs lighter. Any suggestions on whats up? Could it be that I just run into bad drivers?
