Default Plenum spacer question?

I'm still new to the whole Z scene and want to get as much feedback as possible. I was just wondering if there is any one plenum spacer that is better than the others? And has anyone had any problems with underdrive pulley's like with Honda's?

Check the Sport Z magazine plenum vs plenum spacer results posted here.

Two questions that usually present very differing answers.

First off, the underdrive pulley. Many people will tell you that it will bring a quicker end to your engine, and many others will tell you it is a good way to free up a few horsepower. I'm in the second camp. I've had my Unorthodox Racing crank pulley on for close to a year now with no issues whatsoever.

Now, the plenum spacer. If you check Motordyne's website, they have the Sport Z dyno comparison without names, but it's easy enough to figure out which plenum and spacer is made by which company. The Motordyne 1/2" put out the highest HP #, but the 5/16" spacer has a slightly larger area under the curve, and also fits with the stock strut bar and engine cover. I just installed the 5/16" spacer on my Z and love it, would definitely recommend!

You already started on the right track by researching. I suggested reading through:

I have the 3/8" MD spacer and love it. Tony at motordyne is great - I had bought mine used and he helped me get all the misc. parts I needed.

I just ordered the UR under-drive pulley set. ($275 for complete set w/ belt and shipping.) PM Primo8998 for details.

You weren't able to use the stock strut bar either, correct?

if he is using the 1/2" spacer, then no, the stock strut bar will not fit!

Thought so. That why I went with the 5/16th spacer. Stock strut bar and no rubbing issues.
