Not much that you can do. You cannot lower the upper plenum nor can you raise the hood.

About the best that you can do cement two small rubber pads under the hood.

Something doesn't sound right if your plenum is rubbing on the hood!!!! What brand and size spacer are you using??? It is rubbing at the front or back of the plenum?

I have the AAM 1/2" tapered spacer and have the strut bar in with spacers to lift it up. The strut bar slightly rubs on the hood but that means that the front of the plenum is a least an inch below the hood.

I've heard of strut bars rubbing the hood a bit, but never the plenum itself. This must make one hell of a racket under acceleration (with the engine moving/torqueing about).

i have the 5/8 spacer and it rubs in the middle of the plenum on both sides
and it makes no noise, i think it only hits when the engine is torqued

Well, there's your problem. Only the 5/16" or 1/2" spacer fits without modification. I think the 5/8" was only for the FX35. If I remember correctly, when they first offered the spacers, there was a note about needing some hood spacer to lift up the rear of the hood so that it cleared the plenum on the Z.

PM Hydrazine on this board, he's the guy behind Motordyne and should be able to help you out with a solution to this.

Spin up the rubber stops where your hood closes that may give you a lil room, not too much though then you'll have a gap in between your hood and bumper.

I think some of the guys put washers between the hood hinge and the hood to gain the clearance. It raises the back of the hood a bit but does the job.

I have a 3/9ths in. plenum spacer from Motordyne and I am running 1/2 in. hood spacer that are basically big washers that screw onto your bolts for your hood and raise the back up. A lot of people don't like the look but it's a pretty widely used mod. Also increases air flow into the engine bay and better cooling as a side effect. Talk to hydrazine and he can probably tell you where you can buy them.

Skunk2 isn't tapered. You now have a good excuse to get a better spacer :-p
