Default starting car with no exhaust?

is it ok to start the car with no exhust? right now the only thing hooked up are the headers. i know i'll throw a CEL, but will that clear when I reset the ecu and hook up the exhaust again?

Yeah pretty dangerous to do if you have anything flamable under the car. I did it during my exhaust install.... it is deafening. I didn't rev past 4000 in fear or my ears exploding (it was in a garage... so 20X louder)
