Question Pop Charger + ECU Mod... ?????

So I went to buy my JWT Pop Charger for my 350Z today... the mechanic said he didn't recomend installing it without tuning the ECU afterwards, which he said he'll do for $100. Thats a waste of money... so I decided to put off my pop charger purchase until I put my stillen exhaust on... I'll have the mechanic put both parts on at the same time, and tune it after... kill 2 birds with one stone...

Was wondering... anyone out there put a JWT Pop Charger on without tuning the ECU? Does that harm the engine at all..? I'd really like to purchase it and install it myself... and tune my engine after I get the exhaust down the road... but I'm not sure what the consequences are going to be if I install it without tuning the ECU....

no need...just get the popcharger and put it on urself...itll take u maybe 40 minutes if ur new at it... Ive never heard of a ECU tune after just an intake...thats usually for like BMW's and such which get Service engine soon lights after getting just an intake...

You don't need a tune just for an intake... even intake and a exhaust.

But you'll def need one after headers, plenum, cats or test pipes...

Get to know your Z and install that pop charger yourself!

I have a popcharger, headers, test pipes and y pipe installed. oh yea also a kinetix upper plennum. No tunning has been done to the car but feels like a lot can be free'd up from a nice ecu tune. ur ecu should tune itself with just a popcharger to adjust for the air intake. Go for it like everyone else would tell u

That is exactly what I thought when I first heard it. I turned down his offer and decided to do more research on it IN CASE he is correct. Turns out, like ya'll said, he just wants my money. However, I have decided to go with a Stillen CAI and True Dual exhaust... I'm ganna install it myself probably in a week or two. :-)
