Question JWT vs. Stillen

So I'm getting a pop charger. Was ganna go with the JWT, as I see that most people on this forum have that installed... but then a friend of mine (very smart mechanic) recomended this:

Stillen Cold Air Intake

He said this is the only way to go for an intake. Sounds great and immediately noticed a real performance gain on his Z before even installing his exhaust. I am also planning on putting the Stillen TD exhaust on also down the road...

It's about $50-$60 more, however, I don't believe on going economy on a sports car. If you're ganna do something, do it once, and do it right... Has anybody out there tested the JWT against the Stillen? Is the Stillen much better? Like I said, I am putting a Stillen exhaust on also down the road. Should I invest in staying w/in the same company?

The only functional difference that I can see between the pop charger and Stillen intake is that the top of the Stillen air filter is covered. I like the design if it keeps hot engine bay air out of the intake.

Correct. The Stillen is a better design and keeps the heat out.

I don't care how it looks. This is not a show part, this is a performance part. So as far as the OEM look goes, I honestly don't care. If it gives me better hp, cooler air, and the same sound, I think ima go w/ the Stillen.

Go for it. I would appreciate some photos of what the filter area looks like without the top in place.

Does the stillen give the same hiss sound and volume as the JWT? I've heard the JWT before and I like it a lot.

Both will be about the same. JWT is more popular, it's cheaper and provides the same HP gain. With Stillen, you're paying extra for the box. JWT provides a heat shield that comes up to meet the hood. Either one is a good choice.
