It's all 2 1/2" from the resonated test pipes back. Special x-pipe design to dual mufflers...sounds hot all!

I thought it was true dual? Hard to say "true dual" and X-Pipe in the same thread.

No it's not - you have to properly balance a system - the ongoing debate of effectiveness of h-pipes and x-pipes has been going on for years. If the x-pipe is done properly - is large enough - and flows right - there's no issue at all.

I used to think the same thing - how could you take 2 pipes - into 1 pipe - back out to 2 pipes - and call it dual - man I fought that for years too. Then I built several systems on past cars and dyno'd them - and the 6 cyl cars worked so much better - performed so much better - sounded so much better with the X-pipe. The pressure was balanced and the dyno showed more power.

Made me a believer right away. Balancing is what X and H pipes are about - they were invented for balancing DUAL systems.

Interesting. Been following this here and on G35driver.

Question: What has this exhaust done different so that it amplifies the stock volume? I'd say a good 30% at least of Z owners wish they could just have the stock sound but a lot louder. I'm one of those people, and the claim that its the same as stock but multiplied by 5 leaves me a bit curious because why hasn't any other exhaust manufacturer been able to do this?

Hell even NISMO IMO doesn't sound like stock to me...way different. I want stock howl, but a lot louder.

Thanks, looks like a nice product--just looking for what you guys did different that made it possible to sound the way you describe it.

Had the Nismo, sounded great, but not as great as the stock sound if it were louder.

honestly, i don't know what they've done differently than the other exhaust manufacturers... it could be anything. but whatever they have done, the outcome is an awesome looking, sounding and performing exhaust system, so that's enough to keep me happy.

Who says the others tried to duplicate the sound to begin with?

I've had every bolt on system out there - yes I've actaully purchased 9 bolt on systems and had 4 custom systems made - they all bring a new sound to the car - they take the cars built in character away - I've always wanted the character enhanced - not changed.

You've asked what has been done to make this system finally do what others haven't - simply put I think - experimetation to get what I think I have always wanted - character enhancement - not change!

We really need a ballpark price range here. If it is Megan Racing / Topspeed Priced at $300-$500 A pop the will sell like hot cakes. If they are Nismo/Borla Priced at $800-$1K it will be hard to compete with so many established products. If it is HKS $1.5K you can bet you will sit on a pile of inventory for a long time.

All -

I think they are trying to keep the system at the $850-$1,000 range for alumiinized - stainless - and that's a complete catback - y-pipe and all. There will be options for polished stainless, a bit higher, and aluminized pipe as well, which will be the less expensive - details are coming soon.

My G35 will be completed this week and I'll take pics and try to get some sound clips and post this weekend too.

Hang in there....call Tony or Danny at Fast Intentions - it's their info to give...I just don't have it.

I wonder if this thread will make it to 330 some posts like the SFR Twin Intake plenum did.
