Default For those with Motordyne 5/16 Spacer

How much difference in sound did the spacer make, if any? Also, how were the results upon installation on the butt dyno? I've been thinking about doing this mod since it's came out, just never had any time to. Any input would be appreciated!

I will also add one more question:
How well does the spacer work with Nismo intake and exhaust?

I've heared that this combo is not the best - and if I want to get the spacer I should change my intake to pop charger.

you can just make your nismo into a short ram intake. I think that was the problem with the Cold air intake and the spacer combo. Shorter distance for air to flow is more efficient for this mod combo.

Im also wondering the same thing...I am running the spacer and an AEM CAI and have heard the rumors regarding the spacer and the CAI but the place I bought the spacer from told me there would not be any issues.

I can vouch with mc350z that the sound of my exhaust became a bit deeper with the spacer. I also felt better throttle response after the install. Overall, I'm very happy with my set-up. Now, I'm looking for a place to re-flash to take full advantage of my mods.

w/ jwt popcharger and MD 5/16 spacer the popcharger actually whistles from like 3k rpm and up. it almost sounds like turbo spooling.

I have the MD spacer and Injen CAI...there's no problems with the set-up. From what I hear, there might be some losses low in the RPM range due to the combination of a the spacer and CAI - but since it doesn't seem there is a firm answer to this, and I care more about the 5K RPM+ range (I'm willing to giv up low end HP/TQ to gain it up top b/c that's where you use it when it counts), I'm leaving my set-up as is.

i guess it made the car a little louder and deeper. at first i didnt notice much, it took about 50 miles or so after the install of the spacer to really feel it. I just notice better throttle response, more low end torque, and better top end. i think it works awesome with my pop charger. great combo!

hmm was wondering about this so do you really think its worth switching it out? I have the Injen with the spacer and cant say I think I had a lag in down low but then again My butts numb form sitting in an office all day so it could be off when its acting as my DYno.
Also the injen looks like a ***** to uninstall and change over to a short ram any one have a decent set of instructions do so?

Thanks everyone for the input. I have a ram air setup so the spacer would be perfect.

well definitely 5k and up I felt the spacer's difference. thing is within 2 weeks I threw on test pipes and clutch and flywheel so I'm not sure what i'm feeling do more work test pipes plenum or the flywheel revving quicker into my powerband (hope that makes sense)..
anyone done the CAI to short ram conversion on an Injen?

so what rpm is everyone shifting at with just a spacer and intake. i usually shift at 6.5k in first then 6k the rest of the gears, but figured that with the spacer it would make more power up top and was wondering if i should be shifting later.
