Default Stillen Exhaust install HELP!

I have Stillen TD exhaust for my car and am going to be doing the install tomorrow. I was wondering what the easiest way to do the install is. Me and my buddy tried to tackle it but we were short on time and that stupid M-brace kept getting in the way. How did you guys get yours done and whats some tips on working around that M-brace? What are some tips on getting those hangers off? WD-40 and a screwdriver? Let me know so you can help me out to get it done quicker. Thanks in advance guys.

The night before spray nuts, bolts and connecting hardware with penetrating fluid.

you should have no problem with the stillen exhaust...use plenty wd40s overnite, work on it in the morning. Good luck.

So the consensus is to remove the m-brace? We are having a hard time taking off the stock exhaust cause its in the the way.

/\ my bad...

Well to get the screws out I would spray some WD-40 like you said.

I never installed an exhaust... but if i know my stuff i would say it goves above the M brace... so put it in there 1st =P

and my bad about not posting something useful of this thread... that poster is a pure dumass who critisized me on my grammar, saying my sentences make no sense. I saw this post and read his responce and has to comment on his typing.

Anyways I wish you the best of luck in your installation. Having a friend of 2 help is def. easier than doing it by yourself.

Do you ever miss the stock exhaust note? Thats what I'm afraid of. I just want something thats like stock except maybe louder and deeper a tad. What do you think?

if you keep the stock cats and manifold, it's not that much more louder but it does have a deeper tone. It gets loud when you put the cats in. Anyways, i watched the stillen guys put it on, they do it like in 30 minutes. They WD40 everything, the hanger rubber, all the bolts, then wait like 10 minutes. They used air tools and started loosening all the nuts, then from the back they undid all the nuts that hold the rear muffler assembly. Then another guy came and held the muffler as he used a crowbar like thing to pry it off the hangers. There is like a ground strap too, just take it off. Then they took off the next section and then Y pipe. I don't remember them taking off any braces. Everything seemed to slide off easily. They put the exhaust on in the reverse steps starting from the cats and they hand tightened the screws till they put the new mufflers on the hangers, and made sure it was all straight and aligned then tightened everything.

I think you will be very happy with the exhaust. Even if you put on high flow cats it's not to loud or raspy. At idle it's quite it opens up after 3k and there is no droning on the highway.

Put it on this morning. It was a B-I-T-C-H!!!!!! Took forever to mount that sucker. It was a pain. But on the brightside, the car sounds Jacked. For the lack of a better word. It definitely feels peppier. Its awesome I love the sound.

Exactly!

I will post up some sound clips of stock exhaust and stillen with the race pipes.
next week i will post up the sound clip of the stillen with the aam hf cats.

At idle you can't even tell it's an upgraded exhaust. even with my race pipes
on. And like you said at 3K is where it starts to kick in. i made the mistake of
going with race pipes and at 3K and beyond it's insane. way too loud for me
even though i actually wanted something kinda loud. the hf cats should tone
it down to a reasonable level.
