I beg to differ unless you have some support for that statment. Ceramic or Coated headers are just as good if not better than stainless in some applications.

I think so but I don't recall what we all decided. I still think Thermal coated headers and other part serve a purpose and added insurance. Cutting down heat in the engine bay being one.

Jetcoat the SS headers and you have a win-win

I searched DC headers and found 95 posts. You might want to read them.

DC copy from Nismo
STRUP copy from Nismo
Alphawerk copy from Nismo

when dyno, hp gain pretty much the same for those 3. (do a search on header, you will see)

DC: ~$500-$600
STRUP: ~$400
Alphawerk: $400-$500

I don't know how the fitment on DC & Alphawerk but STRUP has a very good fitment. Installation time from 3 to 4 hours (cut down your labor cost)

I believe the reasoning behind SS is that 304 stainless steel can expand and contract easier thatn mild steel due to the molecular make up and arrangement which means they are less likely to crack.

Well thanks for all the info...and I went to gt motorsports to see how much install would be for headers and the wanted 600 bucks just for install =( so I might just hold off on headers this week and save up

another reason I want to go with DC because they are carb legal

I am sorry, but headers are not a 3-4 hour install...maybe per side, but not in total.

And no, they are not NISMO copies either

The ceramic work just fine...and will last longer than most people will likely keep their car. Especially good if you are on a budget

coated stainless is of course, ideal, but pushes the pricing upwards

There you have it. For those who think ceramic is teh suxorz, they dissapate heat much more faster than the SS. And no header is a copy of Nismo. To the original poster, I have the DC ceramic headers and they are awesome. Pull great above 5k rpms. They will make your Nismo sound great with test pipes.
