Hey everybody...installed the popcharger tonight. I was really impressed. The instructions that came with it sucked, but thanks to the resources of this site, I got it installed less than an hour (I have never worked on a car before in my life.) The sound is awesome its a deeper sound, and makes this little whistle that almost sounds like a turbo.

 

I installed mine a few weeks ago, I love the deep growl above 4k, and the whistle durring shifts when you get back on the gas. I dont have that whistling sound while accelerating though, I dont know why.

So the wistle is normal. Lets say someone (me) didn't want the whistle anymore, is there a way to get rid of it.

 

Get a new type of intake?

 

Am I the only one that thinks or seems like that whistling noise sounds more like squeeky brakes?

Mine sounds more like squeeling brakes than a whistle, when I give it gas. And I can only hear it with the window down. My growl doesn't seem to kick in good until over 5,000 RPM Really starts peaking at 5,500RPM.

I WANT A NISMO EXHAUST!!!

 

That is mainly why I want to get rid of it. If I heard this noise on another car my first thought would be brakes not a turbo.

By the way I am running the K&N intake and it whistles also.

 

Jim wolf probably made more money on this filter than on all other parts they sell combined.
