anyone install the kinetex high flow cats? Mine threw a service engine light and won't pass New York inspection. I tried reseting the computer but the light came back the next day. I can't get in to have the code read until next week. Hate to give up the performance that gained me 7 mph on the back straight at Watkin's Glen last fall.

Post in wrong section...but happy first post.

Kinetix HFCs shouldnt throw a check engine light. Best advice would be to get the code scanned to help diagnose the problem.

What year is your Z? People with later model Zs who have test pipes use non-foulers (a $5 fix...if you do a search you can find more info on these) to fix the CEL situation.

5,000 miles and no problem with SES. Does New York have a sniffer of OBDII emissions test.

I had them when I was NA, and I snapped a weld completely in half. Took them off, and the cat was literally in two pieces. Taking a look at the welds, they were terrible quality.

I got replacements from Kinetix and ended up selling them. The quality on the new ones looked bad, too.

I had the Kinetix HFC's with Injen SES & CAI on for a while and never had a CEL/Check Engine Light. I'm in Rochester, PM me or post here and I might be able to help you out.

What club are you going to the Glen with?

PS, welcome .

HFCs can still throw a CEL in later models............although not as common as on test pipes, it's still a possibility.

I'm running an '03 Brickyard Enthusiast preorder. NY plugs you computer in and sends all the readings directly to the DMV so it is almost impossible to beat.

just go to autozone and borrow their obd2 scanner, it's free. Check the code bc I want to know what kind of code the cats will throw. The obd2 scanner will allow u to erase the code without resetting your ecu.
