ive had megan testpipes on for 4-5 months.. took it out because of my new exhaust setup.. and it did smoke, and had a bad smell, but not that bad for me to take it out after 100 miles.. honestly i liked my megan tp, i noticed difference in the top end... and i believe all testpipes are like that, just the weldings? and $38? to install and $20 to take it out? ive been getting $80 quotes to install/uninstall, so i just did it on my own... with the right tools, its a piece of cake...

Do you have a CEL? You do realize with test pipes you don't have catalytic converters anymore?

it probably has to do with the fact the car is not tuned properly and the ECU/engine is running like crap. With a proper tune the car should run fine. Personally, I wouldn't run testpipes without a proper EMS

all exhaust smokes like that... When they are manufactured oils get on the inside and outside of the pipe, and usually they keep oil on these kind of pieces to prevent rust while sitting in inventory.

Add to that when exhausts are handled the oils off your hands get on the pipe...

Until all this burns off its going to smell and smoke...

This is 100% normal. It will smoke and smell like total *** for a week or so, depending on how much mileage you put down daily. The smell lessens and the smoke goes away completely after that. You still have a bit of a gassy smell because you don't have cats, but it's worth the power!
