Default SES light and test pipes

I installed my APS test pipes a few weeks ago and I knew I would throw the SES light. So I resetted my ECU for 24hrs, drove around and it came back on after about 60 miles. I don't mind driving with the SES light on, but does that hamper my performance in anyway? If it doesn't, I may just leave it unfixed. Thanks for the help!

doesn't effect performance...use Non-fouler method to fix problem for $25.

I'm aware of the non-fouler method... but I don't drive the car very often... it only comes out on the sunny days... I just don't want the ECU going into some mode where my performance will be hampered....

Good question. SES is signaling that the post-cat sensors are reading the same as the pre-cat sensors. In other words the non-existent cats are not cleaning the exhaust gases.

The ECU is one complicated computer. It may be increasing air:fuel ratio to compensate. Why not be safe a install non-foulers.

I guess I could always install the non-foulers... but I read in some previous posts that the CEL/SES light came back even with the non-foulers.. so I don't know...... but does anybody know if the ECU runs differently if the SES light comes on...?

it shouldn't, unless the ecu goes into limp mode
