So does everyone agree I should go with a MD plenum like hydrazine said. I plan on a Vortech S/c in the future and I am itching to do a few mods before then.

someone educate me here b/c i'm shooting in the dark. i thought the major
benefit of a spacer or new plenum is increased air volume and better
distribution. i would think this would be accomplished pretty near the same
with a spacer or completely new plenum right? plus at some point you will
saturate meaning more volume wouldn't mean more gains? am i close?

That's exactly right.

Even the slightest lift (1/8") of the plenum top will make good power.
