Default plenum spacer question

hey guys, i'm just wondering what you think of the AAM plenum spacer? i'm thinking about getting one, but there's a couple on the market and i've done the research, both here and other related forums, so i'm just gonna ask straight up, what do you think is better and why? your help would be really good. thanks

The "usual" Motordyne spacer is 5/16" which allows the stock strutbar to work with no problem.

I have the AAM spacer, it will require you to put washers (provided) under the strut bar to raise it so the plenum fits under it.

hey david, i've never heard of or seen the sport z magazine up here in calgary. i went to the website and it looks like i'd have to order it. and it looks as though there are not retailers here, so no matter what i would have missed out on that particular article. but thank you for pointing that out. anyways, if you would be so kind to share with me the result of that test that would be great. thanks

This is old, but now there is no reason not to go MD. Everything is easier about the install with no chance of rubbing the strut tower.

Yes, lots of tweaking...it just turned out my clearances were tighter than most:

More so when the car was hot, the A/C was on and when turning left. I was at the limit for hood clearance at that point and accepted the fact that build tolerances vary from car-to-car and I had one of those cars. This is an unlivable circumstance which can be resolved a number of ways, mine being the decision to use the ME unit which maintains a large amount of clearance on the first try with zero vibration tinkering.

I didn't have to add any washers under either side of the strut brace. Just tightened it up and had enough clearance!

They are good to go with FI.

If FI adds 50% more HP to your engine, you can expect to see approximatly 50% more gains from a plenum spacer.

So far the MD plenums spacers are being used at up to 22 PSI boost @ 700+ HP.
They are good to go FI!
