Thanks for the input. I passed on the APS. Still looking at either the HKS or the Injen, waiting for some feedback on the new Injen once people get it.

You dont like the look of APS huh....i see u like the dual canister look. Good stuff, everyone has their own likes. I think you would be happy with HKS, was my other choice but i tried keeping a semi-stock look.

IMO, buying an exhaust mainly on looks is not a good idea IMO.

I would reconsider the APS. The sound is awesome. the sound and the flow will make up for the look - which is purely subjective anyways. I had the APS installed against my will so to speak. I was not liking the oem style muffler. Even told the shop, I don't think I can run this when I saw it installed on the car. I took one drive in the car, and didn't think about the look of the exhaust again. The sound is great, and the exhaust flows like you need it to.

Also, get rid of those HFC. They have no place on a turbo'd car. Get a set of APS test pipes when you buy the exhaust.

I have changed out the HFs for resonated TP's, sound is the same but flow much better. I am leaned out a bit because of it. I orignally had Xerd TPs when I got the turbos strapped on last year, but it was too loud. These resonated TPs are the bomb, they are the right compromise.
I know that looks have little to do with an exhaust, but when the man was ebaying his 2 1/2 " APS he send me some pics, and I just was put off by the look of the muffler. I am going to give this a few days, see what ppl have to say about the new Injen, but I might be forced to go with one of the 3" custom systems, like the AAM or the SVT or whatever.

Right now the top vote is 38 HKS, then 17 other.

It feels so weird when im called "the man" :-d Im only 18!!!

Anyway, votes shouldn't matter. You should get what you want. 2.5'+ is definatley the way to go. Once again, i suggest SVRTech, APS, IMsolutions...AAM. They're all good. SVRTech offers an X pipe which makes it slightly better (and quieter and less noisy- as in less changes in note)

no fitment issues on my HKS install... as long as you LOOSLY (hand tigthen) everything (that means install the pipe from the cats.. to the mid-pipe, then each one of the mufflers... then once that is done crank down on the bolts starting from the cats, back and you shouldnt have any problems..

Thanks for the tip. Now that you mention it, I had heard that here before, some time ago.

I am still on the fence, but it is between the Injen and the HKS, the Espelir is just too small.

we will be doing a groubpbuy on the 2.5" system when it is officially released. the price will be unbeatable on what we feel is by far a superior COMPLETE system. remember we include the test pipe section so we can straighten some of the sharp bends and create better flow in this area. every bend is 30 degrees or less in the entire system creating optimum flow. the 2.5" system also offers both angled 4" tips, or the handmade straight tips like the 3" system. and those of you that have heard the 3" system in person, you know it is nothing short of awesome!! the 2.5" system will follow right in those same foot steps.
the group buy should be happening in the next week or so.
we will also be doing one with the 3" system again too. way easier for us to build in groups then just one or 2 at a time.

I like the idea of a true 2.5" system. However, my areas of concern are:

The lack of flex section - will this put extra pressue on my turbos - exhaust manifolds? I have a fear of cracking the welds (I have the PE stainless steel manifolds)

No test pipe section - I have gone from Xerd test pipes, to stock cats, to Kinetix HF cats, and now resonated test pipes. My test pipes have three extra bungs in them, one on drivers side for AF ratio, one for EGT sensor, one on passenger side for UTEC Tuner REG sensor. How much more to add those bungs?

I like the sound I got with the resonated test pipes and NISMO, no rasp or drone, yet free flowing, does your system drone or "rasp" since it effectivly has straight thru section there?

What price range are we talking about? Esp. with the three extra bungs.

Thanks.

we don't use flex sections for the fact they can let the exhaust sway and create rattles. the 3" dual system is so close, flex sections would make it hit areas under the car for sure. our welds are super strong, you would not ever have to worry about snapping one.
there is a little drone around 2500 on the 3" system. no way you are ever gunna get away from it. but there is no decel popping at all and actually goes very quite after 3k rpms. the 3" system is anything but raspy!! the tone is so deep, i start the car in the driveway and it actually rattles stuff in the house and garage. it truely does sound like a V-8 at idle.
we already weld in 2 extra 02 bungs on both systems.

Ive got the hks for 1289 shipped. I love the sound of the exhaust going through tunnels. Its like a race car passing by you at a race event. The thing is beautiful as is. The only problem i have with it is that at first when i start up, i have a rattle going on somewhere. But after those few seconds its gone.
