Default x- pipe or y- pipe

i have the borla td exhaust and was contemplating and x pipe to replace the h pipe or a y pipe but not sure which one would be better in gains any sugg?

the X pipe is more effiecient than the h pipe. as far as actual numbers as to what you may gain, is hard to guess. may be 2hp, may be 10.

The Borla is an anomaly. While it is advertised as a True Dual, it really isn't. It was one of the first 3rd party exhausts released for the "Z" and the "G", and is still extremely popular. When first announced however, Borla touted that it had an "X" type muffler. So each bank is mixed at the "H" and again in the muffler. I don't know if an "X" close to the engine would help an exhaust like that at all. All the other dual systems, that I am aware of, are in fact real duals. HKS, Invidia, Injen, Stillen and etc. The Borla is not.

The "Y" Pipe is used for single exhaust systems (like the stock exhaust) - It's something you don't want, or can use with the Borla.

This is a photo of the Borla catback. Why chop-up such a beautiful exhaust to add a X-pipe.
