Default Upper and Lower Plenum Porting with Dyno

I'm scheduled for Dyno Tuning on Wednesday 5/31. All of the -over the counter- performance mods are listed in my signature and here are the photos of what I've done to the throddle body, upper and lower plenum. Plus a few of the car newest headlights look. No Turn bulbs, just 12 orange LEDs on each side and of course the headlights are blacked out. I'm still working with retro fitting other projectors into the housing for a completly different look. The car is staying NA, I just don't have the budget for FI right now. All the parts listed in my sig were bought on here now that I think about it. The total in Performance mods comes in at $715

I'm doing this post so others can follow along with me. This is my first time cutting into the plenum or anything else on the engine. I guess I watched to many episodes of the Monster Garage, OCC and the Biker Build Off's on the Discovery Chanel, now I've seen how easy others make it look.

As you can see I cut into the lower plenum and cut out some pretty big pieces. No machine shop, I went at it with a hack saw. I just believe people are way over thinking the lower plenum. It is very restrictive and unnessacarily thick.I made the cut straight across , even with the middile runner. I trimed the tops of the 4 outer runners and I will be porting it out the best I can this weekend.

I'm going to get it Dyno-Tuned to see what it can do and I'll post the results for others to see as well. If it's a waste and I don't get anything out of it, others will be able to see why they shouldn't do it.

How much do you think Dyno-Tuning will do for me?
What are some guesses for the results?

I don't have a piggyback controler.....yes, I know, I should look into a UTEC

How much HP are you expecting from the LEDs and painted headlight housings?

Cutting those runners probably wasnt a great idea..

Why wasn't it not a good idea? Can you back it up with something?

How are you going to know if you had a gain or loss?

Eventually I'll pick up a stock one to check the difference but I plan on going further with this one first. I just think people are over thinking it. I talked to audiblemayhem, if there was a loss, he would have felt it after takiing the tops of the runners off completly. I know he's still tuning so we'll have to see what he comes back with.

I know im guilty of over thinking it. I will be curious to see what your car does. If you want, i have another lower plenum that is untouched. You can place that on the car and do a before and after. I dont mind meeting up with you sometime from now to then if you want to give it a whirl.

good luck bro. from my experience i am thinking that you might be taking out just about the right levels to get your powerband a little higher.

Wow you have an exceptional level of patience, I would never attempt that. Good luck, man.
