HKS is the best. THe price is a bit more than Injen but it is day and night different. $1279 shipped compare to ~$950+

See the pic?

yeah i have the invidia g200 ti tip exhaust, it goes for abour 1400 brand new, got it for 800. i like it better since its much cheaper than the hks, but by far hks sounds the best and it just looks really nice.

I got the HKS recently. It is really a thing of beauty when you look at it, but it turns into a beast when it roars.

Big surprise: Exhaust recommendations are in the exhaust forum.

A dual exhaust is not really necessary and really isn't the best option for the Z. A properly designed single pipe will be lighter, will retain more exhaust gas heat energy and will have less turbulent flow characteristics due to less gas-pipe wall interface.

Obviously those dual tips look cool, but do people even know why dual exhausts were invented? They were invented for big motors with many cyclinders in which the sum cross-sectional area of all the exhaust ports combined would simply be too big to practically combine into one pipe. The sum cross sectional area of all the exhaust ports in the Z's VQ motor can be happily handled by one 3.1" diameter pipe which is not excessively large.

Historically, the bigger engines with more cylinders made more power and necessitated dual exhausts from a pure practical pipe sizing standpoint. The dual exhaust became associated with a car that had such and engine and thus came to symbolize a car with high power. Sure a Viper's 8L V10 would need a 5" pipe if it were a single exhaust, but the Z, and most street cars would do just fine with a single pipe.

If you are going FI, on the other hand, a full dual may be of some benefit as long as it actually increases the cross sectional area of your exhaust path. A full dual that uses two smaller pipes (too large isn't good either, but that's a whole other story itself) is worse than a larger single.

This is about the 20th time I've tried to explain this and I bet it won't be the last.

Has anyone done a duel to single comparison on a dyno?

I can see what speedracer is saying, I always thought the benifit of going 3 to 1 on both side would be greating than going 6 to 1 all together. Just because the timing of the exhaust pulses would get all F'ed up in a 6 to 1 setup causing alot of turbulence. But I am no engineer.
