Default Disappointed W/ Nismo Exhaust

First of all I am a former DSM owner(98 Eclipse Spyder), and I had a HKS Carbon Ti exhaust. Now with my Z, I purchased the Nismo exhaust, and it just doesnt live up to what I'm use to. I've been thinking about selling it and buying the HKS Dual Ti system but is there really going to be any performance changes, or is it just gonna be louder?

adding a exhaust on a turbo car does alot more than it does to an NA car. Nismo exhaust isn't one of the best exhaust, but is one of the more civil ones. HKS is not louder than nismo, and it kinda has the same mellow tone. If you want something that sounds more fierce, get test pipes, a single exit exhaust or headers.

I guess that does make a difference going from Turbo to N/A. Heres a question, if I keep the Nismo is it going to perform well when I go FI?

Nismo isn't the BEST for FI but it works.

I've got the Nismo and I'm happy with it; the tone is louder and throatier than stock and sounds so sexy after 5k.

For NA, it's great. Any FI, you should just go dual.

I don't work for svrt, but I think you should check out their new exuaust system. It's one of the best designs I've seen and it's on group buy status right now

I would have to say that the main reason I would buy a Nismo exhaust is becuase of the sound. For the price, you wont get much power if that is your goal. Especially on an NA Z. For and FI Z it will be better than stock, yet definitly not the best option. I agree that you should check out SVR Tech. They offer two different diameters of the same exhaust which is an awesome design and has amazing quality. The 2.5" is more directed towards NA but if you plan on going FI in the future you could maybe get away with the 3" exhaust and sacrifice some low end torque for the time being.

For NA, Nismo is as good as anything else. Nothing is going to show any dramatic gains over another so it comes down to looks and sound for practical purposes (and maybe weight).
For FI, Nismo is fine for the TN ST setup, but for any TT setup yes go with a true dual 3".
I have the NISMO and loved it when I was NA. Its not bad with the TN but I'd sort of like something free'er flowing. Just my $0.02.
