Default Which Exhaust System to Buy!

Hello everyone, i just purchased a 04' 350 z, I am currently looking for an exhaust system but i would like to get some feedback from some of you, i'd like to know which brand and style offers the best performance and of course a great sound. I would really appreciate your help.

Welcome.

The only valid exhaust shoot-out that I know off is the Sport-Z Magazine test from several years ago.

Look to spend $700 plus for a quality cat-back.

Design is a personal choice. Some members prefer a big muffler in the rear with lots of 90 degree bends. Others dual exhaust with two mufflers. I recommend that you

a. Set a budget.
b. Decide what configuration you want. Single. Dual. One or two mufflers. Y-pipe?
c. Shop for catback exhaust systems which meets your budget and selection criteria.
d. Pick your favorite.

At the top of this forum, there are two Sticky threads, one full of exhaust clips, the other with pics, descriptions, clips, etc. Check them both out for some good background info.

+1. Is this the new and more "Zen-like" Dave? I ponder the impact on man-kind.

DavidV said it right...listen to the sound clips to find your personal preference. Then look at the exhaust gains. Consider the design, layout (style) of the exhaust and finally consider the weight of the exhaust. If an exhaust giving you marginal gains over another but weighs much more than you won't notice a diff. in performance.
