Default resonated test pipes that much louder?

I have the top speed pro 1 3" exhaust with a 2.5" to 3" y pipe. I wanna eventually get header, but for now I wanna replace the oem cats with some resonated test pipes. My question is, will the resonated ones make a huge increase in sound and rasp like the non res ones do? The exhaust is already plenty loud and I really dont want it to get too much louder. So do you think that resonated test pipes would make a huge sound difference or should I be alright?

In my experience with every car that I have installed test pipes, including the Z33, it got noticeably louder. The resonated pipes sound better than the plain tps, but they are still louder than the cats.

Test pipes will be more noisy than the OEM catalytic converters. How much more noise? A couple of decibels at WOT.

A couple of decibles is a lot. The decibel scale is logarithmic

Trust me..Any test pipe with topseed should be loud ENOUGH.

IMO resonated test pipes do NOT make a difference in amount of raspiness...

^^^ In my experience, with the Amuse exhaust and JIC Y-pipe, resonated test pipes DID make a difference, and all but eliminated the rasp. You may have to spend a little cash if you want to get results.

Im looking at kinetix resonated test pipes. The resonator looks to be fairly large so maybe they wouldnt make it that much louder? If it is going to make a huge increase in sound I think im just gonna go with hfc since top speed exhaust is already dumb loud, i dont need it that much louder.

I would go w/ the hfc....even though a resonated cat-delete would have better gains, but the hfc would pass the sniffers test and would give you good gains and would also sound great since you have a top speed exhaust. If your looking for a loud crazy fast track-only Z, go w/ the test pipes.
