Default MPG better with silencers in?

I tried to test this theory by looking at the MPG meter, but it showed the same mpg. But the number of miles I travelled before having to fill up differed significantly.

Anyone else notice that silencers improve the MPG?

i really doubt it would make any kind of difference, with exception to noise levels.

I can imagine that, without silencers, you'll be a little greedier for revs so you can hear the car!
