Default Exhaust Question

Have a question on my exhaust. I have a HKS Hi Power Exhaust and wondering what would go good on it some Helix High Flow Cats or some APS SS Test Pipes. Which one would sound good and not rice? And which ones dont mix with the HKS

The answer is terribly subjective. High-flow catalytic converters will increase exhaust noise. Test pipes will increase noise a bit more.

lol, tps will give more whp, but imo hfc's are more useful if you need to pass a sniffer emissions test.

ive heard it with regular test pipes and it doesn't sound as good

I think I've heard it with hfcs and it didn't change much

are you looking for sound, performance, or both? I might just leave it the way it is if you don't care that much

or get a set of resonated test pipes and pave the way for others with your setup on an NA car

its required you have some kind of catalytic converter to pass....so no you wouldn't pass if you had CAT-DELETE Test pipes.

i'd recommend HFC over testpipes especially HFC with stock looks:
Pros:
1) extra hp
2) piece of mind w/ cop
3) smog check
4) no bad smell like testpipes
5) No ECU codes
Cons:
1) More money
2) Less HP than testpipes

Good question for the regional forum. Test pipes and a OBD check – yes. Test pipes and a stiffer test – no.
