Default The ultimate Topspeed Pro-1 exhaust thread

This is the ultimate Topspeed Pro-1 exhaust thread!

Information: I bought the Topspeed exhaust from eBay for 300 bucks. 47 for shipping. Came with all gaskets and bolts required.

Pictures:
This is how the exhaust came:

These are the gaskets and bolts it came with:

One of the mufflers (small things, eh?) with silencers in (they're out now, of course! )

Unwrapped:

It was so hot I sweat this much just jacking up the rear!

Stock exhaust off (the lube was the most important tool!)

Stock exhaust (and my lawnmower bag, sorry)

The stock muffler fell on me and cut me when I wrenched it out of the rubber hanger

Burned by my diff:

Not much muffling in there, is there?

Just a look in the cavern the stock muffler left:

You can see the new gasket already on the stock y-pipe:

Comparing tip size (not a very good picture, the mufflers got in the way)

Shined em up with a t-shirt before putting them on, of course:

Fitment:

No rubbing issues on the cross-member:

Another fitment picture:

Installed!

Installation: was a total *****. It wasn't difficult, per se, it was just really hard. Everything is torqued down to 5 million lb-ft and the rubber hangers are vulcanized Satan. Took about an hour and a half for the whole thing, including opening it, taking pictures, etc. I'd glady do it again, it wasn't a problem, it's just the sheer brute force required to do the work will wear you out. Putting the exhaust on took 1/4 the time of taking the stock off, it was a breeze.

Tips: Use lots and lots of WD-40 or any bolt-loosener you have. Spray it on all bolts and make sure to get a lot of it on the rubber hangers. Spray it on the metal rods that go in the hangers and then slide them back and forth to get it inside. It helps a LOT. This, of course, applies to installing any exhaust.

iceburns288 - Welcome to the pro-1 exhaust family! Nice pictures. I like how you laugh the first time you hear the overwhelming sound of the pro-1. Your 2nd vid is probably the best pro-1 exhaust video as it almost captures the true sound (but not volume). So, I take it that you like the exhaust then? You'll soon find out that having the silencers out are a b1tch for the ears. Leave them in for daily driving, take them out for the track.

I have this exhaust as well and absolutly love it. My question is, I wanna either do kinetix hfc or their resonated test pipes. Think if I did the test pipes it would be too loud? Im lookin to get a little louder than I am now and still gain some power so would I be better off with the hfc or res test pipes?

Do NOT do test pipes. That's all that can be said.

It's already loud as hell. If you added HFC or TP, you'd be deaf within the hour.

I had test pipes in for less than 24 hours. It was unbelievably loud. You cannot imagine the volume level. If you think the stock exhaust is loud, you haven't heard anything.

How bearable the noise is depends on who you are. I'm a teenage male, so I can take lots of loud noise . Sometimes I wish it were quieter and sometimes I really love how loud it is. Overall though, I would keep it the same volume.

I have Kinetix cats.
