Default k&n typhoon install problem

hey I just got a k&n typhoon intake and installed it today, but there is one problem. The mas sensor wire in kinda short so its a really tight fit where it plugs into the intake tube and im afraid its gonna get pinched. anyone have this problem?

yup i had that problem but i manipulated it alittle and it worked out fine. ill get a pic up in a bit

yep, thats how mine looks too, did we do something wrong? or is the design just bad? also do you know of this causing any issues with the mas? sorry for all the questions, thanks

Same here, Mine is just like that. The Wire needs to be about 2 inches Longer for the "Best" position. But it works and causes no problems.

The MAF sensor line is tight. Remove the plastic engine cover. Is there a clip holding the line to the engine? Cut the clip.

We removed the engine cover and then pulled the plastic clips, which hold the wire loom, from their mounts to get a little extra slack in the MAF Sensor wires. It took some persuading but we got enough slack to route the wires under the intake tube to give a cleaner look. Been running it like this for months with no issues and some of these days it was 100+ degrees out.

Performance is about on par with other Intakes, it is really noticable over 4K RPM. The Sound thouhg.. The Sound is incredible. No other intake gives you a Formula 1 esqe sound like the Typhoon.. None.

Can you use stock Z tube with the typhoon?

Maybe but what would be the point. The Typhoon includes all necessary hardware.
