Need Help To Pick Fast!!! Test Pipes Or Mrev2!!!!
hi Ive got a 04 z and so far I have put on a motordyne 5/16's plenum spacer, and an injen cai. Now im wondering what to do next, i hear the motordyne mrev 2 is a beast and ive been reading about it quite a bit. I also am thinking about getting a pair of helix test pipes. Im not sure which one will give me the best performance and best feel. I wana buy something tonight lol i dunno ive been lazy about buying another mod now ive got the cash and i just wana do it now. thanks

Hi Russell,
Since you have the NON-REVUP engine and you already have a 5/16" spacer, you will make gains with the MREV2, but you will make more with the test pipes.
Test pipes are a good mod, quite a bit better than most aftermarket cats. Test pipes make good NA gains like the plenum spacer or MREV2... but since you don't have the REVUP, and you already have a spacer, you have the majority of power that can be gained from the plenum area.
If you had a REVUP engine, then yes, I would completely advise getting the MREV2 with a spacer. It would make much more than test pipes.
And test pipes are always a good way to make power even if you have a stock exhaust. Go for it!

hey, thanks a lot for your honesty. I wasnt sure how much of a gain it would give me (the mrev2). Motordyne is a great company though, i only have good things to say about you guys. After i installed the 5/18 plenum spacer i was as happy as could be, and it changed the feeling of my z completely. by the way whats your name? thanks

I think your next step would be to get an accurate dyno done. You gotta have a good baseline before you can say you have any gains. Wish I had a dyno done before I started tossin mods under the hood..... ah hind sight
Props to Tony from Motordyne. His posts are some of the best I have ever read.

Taurran is right ... but another gain TP's have over HFC's is that they are generally much, much cheaper. I used to have Crawford HFC's and loved them; definitely enhanced the tone to sound like a deeper and meaner Z. The Crawford's were great quality; the only thing that pissed me off about them was that they rattled against something after I put them on. Nothing a little beating around down there didn't fix though ... just expected that not to happen out of a $500 product.

Best 100$ i've spent. Quality is good and seem to come from the same supplier as a couple other more popular companies (megan for one)
Try 'em out.
