Default Motordyne MREV2 & 5/16 PLENUM SPACER

i just installed 5/16 plenum spacer on my z ....

looking for more mods for my Z, i found the MREV2.

.

"When used with or without a spacer or aftermarket plenum, this modified lower collector will make substantial power gains. Multiple independent test show when used with a 5/16" spacer on the REVUP engine, the combination will add a "minimum" of 15+ HP and 18+ TQ in the upper midrange."

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

is there any draw backs if i both install 5/16 plenum spacer and MREV2..

does it take long to install the MREV2

finally do u guys recommend it

one more thing i have been reading bout the UNORTHODOX crank pulley..... interesting if it increases HP without drawbacks to the Z, is the UNORTHODOX recommended or not.

from what ive read, the if you have a rev-up adding the mrev2 will be a instant success without a tune. for the standard 287hp motor, if you add an mrev2, a tune is highly recommended to get he most out of the mod.

That's probably my next mod. I had most of the breathing mods except for the mrev2 and the spacer. I just dropped my car off at Street Image here in So. Cal. I'm getting some brake goodies! Installed

The MREV is the real deal! Ask Zincognito how his is, we put the MREV into hs car and it was a huge difference, added the 5/16" spacer on top of that and it was even more! Really its worthwhile, best mods out there imo.

But if you can only do one, then do the MREV2 over the plenum, it should give you better HP. Plenum is good but MREV2 is better.

How was a plenum broken? Isn't it a solid piece of metal? Do you mean you bought a broken spacer?

I think it was broken during shipment, but he's in the process of refunding me so...looks like shipping co. dropped it, broke into 3 pieces...

Does the mrev2 change something to the height of the whole plenum? As I want to keep my CF strut bar which will work just fine with a 5/16" spacer...

MREV is what goes right underneath teh spacer. Its held down by 6 bolts, on top of the 500 that holds down the top plenum half. It'll take you 30 minutes if it took you 25 minutes to put on the spacer

i've had my UR pulley installed for two years and i think it's one of the best bang for the buck out there....just make sure the crank pulley bolt is torqued to spec, the install is pretty straight forward with the right tool. You'll feel improvement in your throttle response.

For what it's worth...

These mods have been on my car for a long time now, the ECU has had plenty of time to compensate, and I still need tuning. See my thread in Engine, Drivetrain forum about my progress with Cipher.

They are good mods and make real power, but more power is to be had from tuning HANDS DOWN.

SO... LET ME GET THINGS STRAIGHT HERE..

MY 04 350Z (MT) IS NOT A REVUP ENGINE....

Does that mean a plenum spacer is good enough for it.
I have been doing researches and it shows that MREV2 isnt much of a gain on a NONREV UP ENGINE (which is my car)

Is that right?

what is a revup engine? I came from the turbocharged DSM world and familiar with tuning. But I'm still trying to figure out what an mrev2 and spacer is, though I have a good idea. I don't own a 350z yet, but I'm highly considering it over an M3. I've been doing a lot of research on everything 350z so dump some more knowledge on me.
