Question Converting Nismo long tube intake into short ram?

For those who have turned their nismo intake into a short tube, does the tube just hang from the carb? Is there no support to hold it in any other areas? I was just wondering because i have a Mrev 2/spacer combo and i just wanted to see if i could benefit from doing the change.

Converting to a short tube will help get rid of the long tube pipe organ effect, but then you run into the possibility of drawing in hot air of the engine compartment.

Can you use some sort of heat shield?
