That's exactly what I was thinking. If I had a Ferrari to begin with, I might buy the Z as an addition to my garage.

Oh yea, I got the Stillen and am quite happy with it.

Default Selling my Ferrari for a Z

I know it sounds weird to anyone who has lusted after owning a Ferrari, to sell it, and buy a Z. But you get really tired of $200.00 oil changes every 3,000 miles, and $5,000 cam belt changes. Also, with old exotic cars, you keep your fingers crossed every time you turn the key, try to turn on the heater, use the windshield wipers, put down the almost never electric windows, and as far as air conditioning goes, forget it!

I'm not sorry for owning it. It was really fun while it lasted. But my stock portfolio went to sh........., and the market for old Ferrari's was dying fast. So I thought I'd sell it while I could still get some good money for it.

I drove the Boxster S, and BMW M3. When I drove the new Z, I felt it was equal to the above for $20,000 less. This allowed me to pay cash for the Z, and even though it will never have the prestige of the Ferrari, I really love it. My Ferrari buddies have driven it, and are really impressed.

I like the design of the Greddy and I believe the Injen. Anyone know when the Greddy exhaust will be coming out and around what price range. If i am not mistaken it looks like a true duel setup.

Oh by the way Marcus what kind of ferrari was it.

Default My Ferrari

Hi Greddy:

My Ferrari was a 1977 308 GTB.Probably one of the most beautiful Ferrari's ever made.It was a wonderful car, but the maintenance was a killer.I would forget about the bills evertime I drove it. I've never owned a new car, so when it came time to replace it, nothing else came close to the Z for price vs. performance.

Many of the Ferrari club members which I've know for more than 5 years, have driven the Z, and are absolutely astounded at the performance value. They are so impressed, they won't accept my resignation to the club, which historically only allows Ferrari owners to belong. As a matter of fact, they want me to continue joining their outings with the Z. That's not only an honor, its a real tribute to Nissan.

This is why I kind of chuckle at the expenses some of the Z owners are complaining about. This new car is positively cheap to maintain when you compare it to Ferrari ownership. I couldn't believe it when my first oil change cost only $29.00!

Hopefully one day I can own a ferrari. Cousin of mine had a 360 Modena. Oh man oh man was that car gorgeous. Its a shame he traded it in for a Bmw 745Li.
It is kinda awesome that your ferrari buddies are wanting you to stay with them.

Well that's cool. I mean, sounds like you went through a bit of a rough time, but still managed to buy a Z in cash.

I heard a sound clip of the HKS and I was impressed. I'll probably go with it. My mod path is becoming more and more clear with each passing day.

Has anyone re-dynoed their cars after a few thousand miles to see if the hp gains is still there? I want to put that rumor to rest before buying the Injen exhaust system. Thanks.

Default I'll probably get the Fujitsubo Ti exhuast this Christmas!!

I know it's expensive, but it appears closest to stock with bigger tips and has weight savings of 20 kilos ~ 40+ lbs. That to me is just as important as hp gain! Don't get me wrong, most aftermarket exhuast have impressive gains, but it doesn't mean much to me to get a heavier exhaust (dead weight) to gain a few extra ponies (i.e. Stillen). I bet a lighter car with better airflow may perform just as well if not better!
Just my $0.02.

Question INJEN EXHAUST

My Injen true dual exhaust should be arriving by the end of May so I will keep you all poted..For the $895 it seemed like the best deal for a true dual with 23 hp to the wHeels (probably 45 at the flywheel)and Stainless...as for weight..I my self weigh 250 so a half so a couple of pounds on exhaust wont effect my times that much..lol

I dont think any cat back dual exhaust will put 23 hp to the wheels. Not unless you do headers and mid pipe, then maybe. JMO

I will be going with Borla. I have it on my 99 Z28 that im selling and love it and I think I will like it on the 350z as well. I heard the sound clips and it sounded awsome and it usually sounds 10 times better in person.

Default 61 other votes but no comments on them?

I chose "Other" but we made our own (Muffler Tech.)

It works, it's light an it sounds good.

About 250 bucks I think?
