Default Lets see your exhaust heat shields........

Well as anyone here withought cats knows, your rear bumper will get black real quick. Varis makes a carbon fiber heat shield, and I just saw one for a wrx made of polished aluminum. Im wondering what everyone else has used.

Any custom work?

post pics of what you have or have seen.

funny, I have no problem with my bumper getting black. Have you tried just washing the car on a regular basis?

depends what kind of exhaust you have, and depends on your car. Mine has the utec tuned plus more mods, and a 7300 redline, bring your car to 7300 with the injen exhaust then talk to me. It shoots a flame if i take it to 7300 so yes my bumper is black even though I always clean it.

whats your point? Once again all cars are different, why are you wasting your time questioning if my bumper is burnt?

He didn't prove your point. Your contribution to his question was not constructive and you were rude. How about following the forum guidelines. If you have nothing constructive to say, keep it to yourself.

My Nismo was a little sooty at first but it went away. The tips do get a little black but nothing big and wipes right off typically.

Just have your tips stick out further.... I have never had a bumper turn black, except on a firbird because the tips didnt stick out far enough. But i hated that car and never washed it too. My porsche i ran for 5 years with no cat and just a flow master, it was really loud and the bumper never turned black. But the tip stuck out far enough.

the design of the exhaust leaves part of the tip under the bumper. If i could make the tips go out further i would do so but there is no adjustability unless you know of some way to do it.

You can get a new tip welded on... honestly anything like the shield on that WRX mentioned above is a little hideous and takes away from the look of the car imo.

i have the Varis pieces on my car, majority think it's a cool piece. it really serves no function for me as i just got it to accessorize the rear a bit. the picture's kinda dark and it just looks like my bumper has big holes lol.

Thanks for the pic philude. Welding on another tip is something i would rather not do, but thanks for the help anyways. What all was involved in installing the shields, double sided tape or screws? And if there is a way to get some better pics could you please?

There is really no point to this. You don't want your bumper dirty, so you add a piece onto the car to get dirty instead. Either way, you need to clean it.
