Default Replaced the exhaust..Now what do I do with the stock exhaust system?

Just replaced the stock exhaust with a Stillen setup. My mechanic wants me to pick up my stock exhaust. He said if I don't scrap guys will pick it up. Is there any reason to hold on to it? Does it have any value? Someone already offered to pay for shipping if I sent it to them...why? Just wondering and any suggestions would be appreciated.

How much was the Stillen setup? Was it the cat-back type?Did you dyno before and after?

I just put my B&B on today. I'm keeping the stock exhaust so I'll have it when I sell the car (a LONG time from now), in case the interested buyer doesn't want the loud stuff that's on the car.

If you've got a place to store it, keep it. It's not like you'll be able to sell it.

Always keep your factory/stock parts after you replace them with aftermarket parts. Three reasons..

1) In case you want to switch it back for inspections (tickets, smog etc..)

2) Factory parts dont worth much if you are tring to sell them (except maybe for wheels)

3) You may want to change the car back to factory shape when you want to resell the car later (clean factory shape almost always will worth more for used cars)

I paid around 1,100 for it and it's the cat back type. No dynos....I'm such a wuss I couldn't wait.

Thanks for the input on holding on to it. My only problem is that I say I'm going to take things out of my car when I sell but I never do. Guess we will see if this changes anything.

Oh one more thing. The entire Stillen exhaust will fit inside the Z for trasport to the installers. I suggest laying down a towel or two in the hatch to avoid a few scratches.

It's got a GREAT sound low end, but gets a little too raspy at high rpms for me. I'll probably install a bullet muffler to help get rid of the rasp. As for performance, there's a little more kick to it, but I don't have much to compare it to, since I only had the car a day before I installed the B&B. It weighs a TON less than stock and it wasn't too bad to install. Took my fiance and I about an hour.

I've always liked B&B stuff for Vettes and F-Bodies and I have to say they did an excellent job with this system, as well.

I bought mine slightly used from another guy, because he thought it was too loud, so I got a much better deal than retail, but it sells for $895 retail. I'm sure some of the shop guys could better inform you of the prices, shipping, etc.

If you have any other questions, just let me know!
