Hey guys,
Finally was able to dyno my car with the addition of the larger Maf housing.
The previous dyno i had was done in STD so the new dyno graph is setup the same.
Here is the old and the new.
The only other thing that was done to the car after the first dyno was the 4.10 gears and the larger MAF housing and intake pipe.. Plus i had to retune everything with the UTEC.
Looks like i made around 13 hp and 12 tq.

The housing is off of a Ford Lightning a believe. Stock Injectors and the pipe size is listed on the first page in the first post.
Damn, i started the thread over a year ago lol

I know this is a super old thread but im hoping aceman can chime in.
I'm curious as to how you got the 80mm maf housing to bolt up to the air box? Also wouldnt the stock velocity stack inside the airbox be considered a restriction as well? I doubt that its 80mm and matches the MAF housing.
Also, do you think a UPREV reflash can be calibrated to compensate for the larger MAF housing and throttle body?

i was talking to a teacher of mine about this topic. He's more accustomed to old hot rods and stuff but i think its nice because its always good to go back to the basics.
He said that the larger intake piping, maf housing, bored tb, and port matched manifold will gain you some power but not enough to warrant the cost. I definately see that with aceman's finding as he didnt gain that much from this mod.
The best point my teacher made, however, was that a good set of cams would definately compliment this mod. He said that we wont gain much because the valves will only open so much with the stock cams, more aggressive aftermarket cams will let the valves open more and longer and take full advantage of the larger intake pieces.
Just a thought, maybe this might help you ACEMAN. Im interested in your build because i plan on doing this as well

I have pop charger (had the velocity stack lathed to match the Z1auto Maf housing inlet (which is tapered from ~79mm on inlet to 76mm on exit), aforementioned z1 maf housing, and a samco tube. It did make power over stock with just pop charger. I have dyno's on this site somewhere, but I don't wish to go looking for them. Picked up ~10-12whp across the board).
