Default Got my manifold back from the chromer!

here's ashot of my newly chromed manifold. wow. I need to clean the rest of my engine compartment! ....and get my engine cover painted black!

Wow! Great job QuadCam!

That had to take a ton of aluminum smoothing and polishing before you could even start the plating process.

Basically, the aluminum needs to shine like that before you can put the chrome plate on.

I did alot of the sanding prior to taking to SPS. I was working it with a DA sander and also my dremel. I had to smooth, but I was not about to finish the job!

you are right.....they have to polish it like glass......them copper plate it......then polish the copper......then nickel plate it......then polish the nickel.

Finally, they can chrome plate it......and it 's done!!!!

it was $300, but I did alot of the initial sanding prep work.

just today, I saw a website selling polished stock plenum covers for $400 plus they wanted your core.

For those looking for a polished plenum, check out intensepower.com. It's 480$ and you get 200$ back for your original plenum: 280$ in total.

I really like the chromed plenum vs. the polished beacuse the chrome really has a lot more lustre with that part.

I have one of those sets, too much $ for what it is. You might as well get some from the local hardware shop.

I'll sell one 225 w/o core and shipped, and the chrome looks hawt btw, but did it raise the temps up a bunch????
