Default Mrev2 on Revup without spacer?

As title said, I would like to know what the power benifits would be by doing just the Mrev2 plenum and not the spacer along with it. Would the gains be worth the price, and would just adding the plenum yeild any substantle power? Or is it only the best to do the both of them?

Get the spacer as well for maximum gains. You'll get good power gains with just the MRev2 though, since you have a Revup you'll see more tq than if you were a nonrevup. But it is best to do both if you can...

Alright thanks for the info, reason I would prefer not to to do the spacer at all is just becuase I dont wanna deal with the strut bar or any clearence issues, and since hinz....i forget the rest of him name posted about the problem with the plastic spacers that u gotta use with the spacer kit that are on the inside of the motor makes me not wanna do it and just get the plenum.

I have both on my rev-up, and have had no clearance issues. The spacers aren't plastic, btw, they're aluminum (I think). The key is to get the 5/16" spacer vs. the 1/2". If I remember correctly, the 1/2" does present issues with the stock strut bar not clearing the stock hood, but not the 5/16".

I know at the release of this thing Tony indicated the tq fall-off in upper rpm's was horrible without the spacer. I wouldn't go without it.

Regarding strut bar clearance, you'll have plenty with a 5/16" spacer, you just may have to tweak it a bit to get the bar so the motor doesn't knock it and the hood clearing it.

Regarding the plastic spacers for the plenum bolt holes, I think the majority of users do not see the issues in that one guy's post. I think he just got "lucky" with a horribly QA'ed oem piece.

Don't get the mrev2 without the spacer on the REVUP motor, way too much power loss in high rpms

5/16" spacer you keep your strut bar, no rubbing, if you install it correctly (not hard to do)

Alright, thanks for the info guys. I just got worried when the other member posted about the spacer being such a hassle made me not wanna do it. But it if works and shouldt be as bad then ill deff have to do it. Oh yea, wats a throttle body spacer do? Any power gains at all? I saw altered has one on their site and kinda curious as to what it does actually.

Hey Dude, "the other member" here... Just do it already! Even with the issues that I ran into, I would do it again in a heartbeat. A few days after the mod, and this is the only mod to my car at this point, I am so much more pleased with the Z's power curve.

I am trying to get my wife to put one on her Z too!

Hope this helps...

Dyno results with and without the spacer will be featured in IMPORT TUNER magazine. They regularly do technical write ups on various mods but this time they tested the Motordyne product on their showcase REVUP 350Z.

MREV2 with the 5/16" Iso Thermal plenum spacer shows itself (once again) to be the most effective bolton for the VQ engine.

Article will be in next months issue.
