Default Injen SES TD

I am about to pick up a used Injen SES TD ehaust here in Las Vegas. The gentlemen says it needs new gaskets. He isnt sure if the OEM nissan gaskets are going to be the same ones the Injen could send. Does anybody know if the Injen gaskets are the same as OEM nissan ones, and approx. how much these gaskets would cost. We only have 1 dealer out here from Injen according to their site. Any help is appreciated.

Not sure how much the gaskets will cost, but they are definitely not the same as OEM.

The problem that you may find with OEM gaskets is matching the inner diameter (ID). But no problem. When you get the exhaust, lay it on the ground like it is installed. With paper and pencil make a rub of the connections. Just put the paper on the end and rub with a pencil.

Take the rubs to a auto parts store and ask them to match with gaskets.

BTW 6 OEM 2-bolt gaskets will cost you about $90.

So if I make the pencil rubs on paper and take them to an autoparts store they can custom make the gaskets? If so would this be a much cheaper route then buying the 6 oem gaskets?

injen doesn't come with gaskets? only usable gaskets will be the ones connecting to your cats. other ones get pretty crusty.

Injen comes with gaskets....but you're still going to use your OEM gaskets, Injen doesn't supply the whole set....it's mixing and matching oem/injen gaskets.

Well since the exhaust has been used for over 10K and then sat in a garage for a while, the gaskets arent in good shape. So he said I should find some new gaskets so that I dont encounter any leaks and such. So now im just working on trying to find some these gaskets so I can pop this exhaust on and go

The gaskets should be a standard size (60mm ID I believe). OEM gaskets are definitely expensive.

Well get your hands on the a crusty one and take it to the autopart store or exhaust shop, there is nothing special about the Injen gaskets.

or

You could buy gasket material and cut them yourself, they are simple enough.

For a first-rate install, use new gaskets. The last thing that you want to be doing is troubleshooting leaks. I also recommend new hardware: Stainless steel bolts and self-locking nuts.

I got this link from a rep at Injen. What does 60MM translate to in the inches 2.5 correct?

^^^Those should work. Make sure you come by and take a look at the exhaust before you buy the gaskets though to make sure you want it. Remember, its not pretty like the one pictured above lol .

The pre Ti "track" systems uses 50mm (2") pipe.

Someone had a picture of the flange measured here someplace, pretty sure it was 2".

Default Injen SES duals

Recently got a set used. I ordered gaskets for it from Verocious Motorsports, they were $2.83 each. Pics below. Got the 2.25 as they seemed the best match for what came with it. They are slightly smaller than the pipe opening, just a hair.

I have some dispute with Zivman's measurement and picture above. The very first flange, that bolts to the cats, before the flex section, does measure like in that picture, and in fact, narrows some more before the flex (very short section - maybe a couple of inches or so see last picture). But the rest of the system does not. It measured, as best as I could do it, around 2.25 or a little more. (see pictures). Which makes sense for 60 millimeter = 2.362 204 724 inch. Why is it narrow at the very front? I have no idea. I emailed them about it, but like most of these 350Z parts companies, no answer is normal, their US reps knowing nothing is also typical. If I ever get an answer I will post. I did note that the non-Ti Track straight tip on their website now lists 60mm piping and a H pipe. Don't know when they changed it, the set I got has a Magnaflow X pipe muffler, don't think it came with a h-pipe.

Here is the narrow part I was talking about:

Does anyone know where I can order the Injen SES retaining link that holds the two mid-pipes together?

BTW, I looked at your cardomain page and saw this:
TURBO TOYS 3.5 Final Drive with Viscous Limited Slip Differential

How does this differ from the stock 3.5 final drive with VLSD?

If you just need the dimensions of the stock SES plate with two holes, I can scan it and email you a picture with the dimensions. Just cut a piece of steel and drill two holes, take it to a engraver and have them engrave SES.

I emailed Injen and they have not responded yet. I've already searched the Internet and could not locate one since I don't know what the part # is (if there is even one).

The 3.5 FD that I installed is the stock one with VLSD. Turbo Toys is just the company I bought it from. They're in Tampa FL.

I may have to build a custom retaining link if I can't find one somewhere. If you have time, can you scan it for me? PM me once you have it and I'll send you my email address. Thanks!

BTW, I just ordered the Magnaflow x-pipe muffler and will be installing it with my Injen exhaust. I plan on re-installing the resonators just behind this x-muffler before the last flanges. This will be an interesting experiment . . .
