Default Intake porting, would it help?

Has anyone ported or thought of porting the intake on the Z? Would it help any? I've heard of people doing it to different cars like LS1 F-Bodys and stuff, and getting pretty descent HP gains as well as better acceleration.

Just a thought,

Talking about the Throttle Body?

I think the balance would be better with a combination of after market MAF, ECU etc.

I have posed this question before.

We all are playing the waiting game.

Sometimes one wrong mod can throw things out of whack, expecially when dealing with A/F.

I spent 300 bucks on a Granatelli MAF on my LS1 and reset the ECU etc and lost time in the quarter.

Replaced it back with stock descreened and gained the exact same tenths back.

You just never know.

The intake is where the Z gained most of it's power over the other same engine sizes (among other things but it helped allot) so We shall see.

I am sure he means the intake manifold. Is it composite material or aluminum or what?

Yeah, the intake manifold is what I meant, but the throttle body was my next question. I think the manifold is made of aluminum but I'm not positive on that.

pop it off and make sure that the ports on the intake match the corresponding ports on the lower intake, if they don't, just port them until there are no overlaps or anything like that. That would most likely give you the biggest performance gain. I don't hink this car needs much in the way of intake porting until you are putting a little more power down.
