cat-back is just used to describe how much of the exhaust is in question.... in this case... it's from the cat to the muffler(hence cat-back) - obviously the car has all of this already. How does it flow in comparison to the hundreds of after-market exhausts? I wouldn't even know where to begin with that.
If you have any more questions about exhaust systems, the intake/exhaust forum would be a great place to start. https://my350z.com/forum/intake-exhaust-334/

HAHAHA! I'm sorry man, we all start somewhere, but never have I ever heard anything this funny regarding automotive tech. This goes right up there with the girl who asked if there is a regular Cooper made (she though Mini Cooper was too small).
Yes sir. Catback Inc. has been in business since the dawn of catalytic convertors. It has a monopoly on the industry...kinda like Engineback Inc. had before it.

Nismospeed4life: "catback" is just a term used to describe the exhaust. In the Z's case, it flows from the cat (catalytic convertors) back, to the end of the car. So the stock exhaust is a "catback" exhaust sytem.

In my opinion, there is no such a thing as a stupid question, just people that by not asking a question remain stupid or ignorant of it! In this case, I have to thank Roast for educating me in a topic that I did not know of. However, thanks for your post. I greatly apreciated!

Since roast had already given you the answer, I wanted to shed light at the awesome funny-ness of it all...and I would do it again. Trust me, it was the funniest one-liner I had heard all week (and I work with a bunch of jokesters...)
