Default NISMO exhaust gains

Hey I was wondering if anyone dyno'd there car after installing their NISMO exhaust or if they know any links to a credible site that will give you the gains. I have searched but I can't find any gains the NISMO exhaust will give you. I am stuck in between HKS Ti or NISMO right now but the price for the HKS is a bit high.

Thanks

A before dyno will cost $80. A after dyno is another $80. Few members spend $160 to dyno each mod.

All exhausts will produce pretty much the same power. When I got my Nismo exhaust I could not tell any hp increase, just a better sounding car.

i heard you won't get a noticable gain when you add any aftermarket exhaust since the Z is a pain in the *** when it's N/A

What about HKS's claim that they get up to 14 hp to the wheels? I know it must be exaggerated but the gains should be around that number right? Every NISMO exhaust retailer site i go to i don't ever see the reported gains so that just got me wondering. By the way NissanZfan, how do u like the sound with the NISMO?

i have my friends NISMO for sale in the exhaust in the classifieds forum and the So Cal regional forums as well. I have mine on the car, so you can hear it before you buy it. Not many chances for people to hear it and buy it the same day without paying to take it off.

Check it out, great deal for SoCal owners.

Thanks

Ted

14 hp to the wheels will just not happen. If you had headers, cams, so on you might get 14 whp out of an exhaust. I love the sound of my Nismo exhaust, it sounds like the stock tone but more aggressive. I suggest you look around this site for a few days or weeks while you decide, and I bet you can get a perfectly fine used exhaust for almost half the cost as new, that is what I did.

The HP/TQ gains are not proportional to the amount of $$$s you spend on an exhaust system.

Z exhaust are pretty much for sound not performance. So find the one that sounds the best to you. The HKS shaves a bit of weight but I haven't heard one in person yet.

My car (an '04 base) made 222rwhp at Dynocomp in Scottsdale. I added a UR Pulley, NISMO CAI, cams, headers, Cat Back Exhaust, and a 5/16" plenum Motordyne plenum spacer and made 262 rwhp. I since added a motordyne (revup) lower plenum but haven't dynoed since. Note that the Dynocomp dyno reads lower than a dynojet. I was probably at 280rwhp (dynojet) before the last mod. IMO there is no point in any one N/A mod such as an exhaust and nothing else. If you want performance you need to alter air flow front to back. I will be getting a re-flash soon and hope to post details.

So all those MOds are without a tune? 40 rwhp without a tune, and how much did you spend? Cams must not have been cheap, what type of cams do you have?

Wow, seems like you really need the tune to bring out more hp, why not the UTEC?

so many times the Exhaust Question has come up. and there are so many answers and theories and opinions, This is my professional opinion on how one should look at exhaust systems for the 350z and G35, first and for most what are you looking for, most likely if it is raw power, you need to look at a package or a combination of equipment that is going to give you that end result, not on a part by part bases. 2, quality, one system may do slightly better than another but will it last will it fit properly, will it cause stress on other stock components, and cause them to fail, is 1hp worth drivability issues. 3 price get the best quality part you can and don't buy it due to hype. and finally realise its just a pipe to get exhaust to the back of the car, there is no magic. its only going to help the other mods work better not create lots of power on its own!!

OK
APS -- 2.5 true duel -nice top quality construction better than oe and show quality finish , nice tig welds/ heavy duty will out last the car not very loud, best flanges, needs more aggressive sound. 8-10 wheel on it own.

APS 3"race system. again top quality as above, very nice sound great flex joint design a must for turbo or s/c cars../ About the best out there, needs balance tube, not for the timid. needs more attractive tips 8-14 alone

Greaddy race system. good true duel ok look, fair sound, fair finish, lite ,not the best fit good at best construction. to expensive for the quality. average power 5-9 hp.

stillin, great power 8-12 hp good design (H pipe) fair fit, terrible finish, muffler shop quality construction, never seen 13hp

Nismo--- good finish , good construction (welds), good sound (best feature), thin 304 most likely not virgin, poor design (Y) not good for further mods. not the best for turbo or S/C cars 3-6HP

b&b--- good sound , good finish on cans only, poor fit, poor construction, dos not last (welds brake falls apart) 3-5 hp ,single

borla--- good design! true duel good power ( no individual data) nice tips good sound, poor finish sad not to polish the 304, borlas of the shelf resonators and can.

hks--- (HI Power only) phenomenal system great design, one of the best sounds available. good finish, fair construction quality, some fit and alignment issues ( but not bad) good power 8-10Hp poor tips( don't stay on poor fit). a bit pricey

invidia--- will just crack and fall apart. i have repaired to many cracks to count in these systems, i wont give a full evaluation!

all other brands i have not had enough to give good data on. hope this helps!
