a little help please: service engine soon light
so i searched and read the manual and i know that if this warning is constantly displayed there is a problem with the car's emissions. So I have a jwt pop charger and a greddy evo 2 exhaust installed. has anyone else noticed this had this problem.
Also when i installed the pop charger i accidentally broke off one of the ears on the tube where the MAF sensor plugs into (yes i felt like a retard when i did it so no need to insult). I think the seal with the pop charger might not be as tight as it should because i hear a hissing sound when i accelerate (I know its supposed to sound like this but i'm not sure if its exaggerated because of my lil mistake). So what do you guys think?
Oh and i asked nissan how much the part costs to replace and its $500 because they only sell the tube, O2 sensor, and the washer together, which i think is crazy.

Yep, that tube comes with the MAF sensor. Anyway, try and superglue the part back, that should at least be a temp fix, worked for me on my 03 Z. I did the same thing, didn't know there was a 4th bolt on the bottom and broke mine as well. I was pissed. I feel sorry for the new owner though, DOH!

The factory intake pipe does not bolt to the MAF, so the only thing you could be talking about are the actual "ears" on the MAF itself as zand02max showed above. You can try and glue as he describes or check around this site and junk yards for another MAF.

yea i did the exact same thing as him and i super glued it together, it seemed to work but now i have the service engine soon light. could it be due to this or the greddy evo 2 exhaust (they had to relocate the evap canister)? what could i do to get rid of the light? nissan wants $95 just to get the code...and thats with my extended warrenty...what a rip off
