Default 2.5" true dual?

Would you guys reccomend 2.5" true dual for NA or a set up with single pipe+muffler such as that of the nismo and stock exhaust?

thanks for the help

some exhausts are advertised as 2.5, but the piping can be smaller.. hks true dual is 2.25 or something, rather... 2.5 may worked with heavy boltons.

Members who have dual exhaust will recommend dual exhaust.
Members who have single exhaust will recommend single exhaust.

Besides potential flow rates, neither has a clear advantage over the other. Study the designs. Decide which suits your needs best.

Hello,

We make a very nice 2.5" True Dual Exhaust System. Here is a link for more info:

http://www.alteredatmosphere.com/mm5..._Code=350Z_EXH

Sound Clips:

Our exhausts are specially designed to have a very deep tone and not be raspy (like the Nismo can be). We use top grade 16-gauge T304 stainless steel tubing, and the highest quality stainless flanges & hangers guaranteed to outlast the car!

Feel free to PM or shoot me an e-mail MikeM@alteredatmosphere.com if you have any questions.

I would recommend slightly smaller than 2.5" piping for a true dual, and either an X-pipe or an H-pipe in there somewhere, for maximum power you need starvation to a point.
Injen true dual track edition with Ti tips
HKS
those would be my recommendations.

If you were to go with a single, I would recommend that the piping be about 3.15", like the JIC

No problem with the input, hopefully you are able to find the exhaust that has the right combination of performance, look, quality, and sounds you are looking for!

I am trying to decide between the AAM 2.5 TD or the nismo and i noticed on the site that you say that the AAM had average gains of 12-16hp. That seems a little high, is that with FI cars? and do you have any dynos showing those gains?

thanks

I have the Nismo exhaust and it has never been raspy. And with stock, cats i've never heard of anyone complain that it was raspy.

Custom or stillen. X pipes rock, but X pipe mufflers arent the most efficient. Custom w/ straight pipes, X pipe, 2 resonators and 2 mufflers will sound like S E X.

Kind of like this:

When you say "That exhaust isnt going to be the one you want." Are you referring to mine i.e. (Fast Intentions Intimidator?)

Just to set the record straight from my end, our exhaust is a complete 2.5" mandrel bent true dual free flowing exhaust system. None of the components we use in our exhaust system are restrictive. No baffles or chambers.
